The President Visits Ukraine

The big news yesterday was President Biden's visit to Kyiv, the capital of war-torn Ukraine. This visit to Ukraine, coming after a well-received State of the Union address, is a strong symbol of American leadership for democracy not only here at home, where we have our own challenges, but also where it is now most directly challenged - on the ground in Ukraine.Biden's strong commitment to democracy at home and abroad adds to the record he has built through his term as president. That record includes a number of successes in the legislature, and a growing number of judicial appointments, most of them of women and people of color. Whatever you may think of our president running for a second term, it's now clear that this presidential term is a significant and perhaps even pivotal one.

President Carter in Hospice Care

Former President Jimmy Carter has decided to receive hospice care at his home in Georgia after a series of short hospital stays. President Carter at 98 is both the oldest living and longest-lived US President.

Well wishes for President Carter have poured in from across the nation. The Carter Center has set up a link for those who would like to send their own well wishes to former President Jimmy Carter.

Please keep the President, former First Lady Rosalynn Carter, and their family in your thoughts.
