THIS YEAR’S SILENT AUCTION PROMISES TO BE A GREAT ONE!

We have almost 60 fantastic Silent Auction donors this year! We’ve got local gift cards, themed baskets, unique services, and many beautiful handmade works of art. Your generous bids will help to make this fundraiser a huge success! Be sure to bring your preferred method of payment (cash or check) and get ready to place those winning bids!

THE SPRING FLING IS A GREAT WAY TO MEET UP AND CONVERSE WITH YOUR FELLOW DEMOCRATS AND PROGRESSIVE VOTERS WHILE LISTENING TO THE DEMOCRATIC ELECTED OFFICIALS WHO REPRESENT YOU.

HEADS UP: AVOID this “Voting Rights” Petition!

Earlier this month the Michigan Board of State Canvassers gave their approval for the wording of a ballot proposal to amend the state constitution that would negatively impact how residents in Michigan vote.

THE PROPOSED AMENDMENT IS LIKE A STATE OF MICHIGAN VERSION OF THE PREPOSTEROUS FEDERAL SAVE ACT PASSED BY THE US HOUSE ON APRIL 10TH.

The proposal would require proof of citizenship before registering to vote. If passed, this amendment would add more red tape to our elections and upend our hard-won secure voter registration laws. Having to obtain the Proof of Citizenship documents the proposal would require will place unwarranted obstacles in front of Michigan voters.

The group fronting this ballot proposal is going by the Orwellian name “Committee to Protect Voters Rights”.

KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR THIS PETITION. DO NOT SIGN IT! WARN YOUR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS TOO!!

And while you’re at it, please contact Senators Slotkin and Peters and thank them for their stated commitments to oppose the Federal SAVE Act in the Senate.

MAY DAY MARCH SCHEDULED

KEWEENAW SOCIALISTS

The Keweenaw Socialists have announced a Rally & March in celebration of International Workers Day, and in protest of actions by Trump and ICE. The rally will begin at 6 PM on Thursday, May 1st in Bridgeview Park in Houghton, with a Bridge March following at 7 PM.

The Trump administration's illegal anti-immigration policies and wielding of ICE as a weapon against immigrants and persons-of-color is not going unnoticed. Let's remind them that we are watching! There will be speakers who will share their stories, thoughts, and perspectives, then we will march on the bridge!
